The Story of Their Nibs: From Notting Hill to Nightwear You Love

Every great brand starts with a spark of inspiration - and for us, that spark began in the heart of Notting Hill.

Their Nibs was born in the early 2000s as a charming childrenswear boutique nestled on the colourful streets of west London. The store quickly became a destination for those looking for something a little more special - clothes that felt nostalgic, playful and thoughtfully made. We even had VIP customers like Kate Moss and Sophie Ellis Bextor! At the time, we created three distinct lines: “His Nibs” for boys, “Her Nibs” for girls, and “Little Nibs” for babies. Together, they formed our brand name, Their Nibs.

Our founder Fiona Barber dreamed of creating more than just clothes. She wanted to craft stories through print - designing original, hand-drawn illustrations that would bring joy, spark imagination, and stand the test of time. These prints became the heart of the brand. Customers came for the sweet silhouettes and stayed for the personality woven into every piece.

Over time, as our community grew, we began hearing the same request from our loyal shoppers: “Can I get this in my size too?” So we listened. And slowly, lovingly, we evolved from a childrenswear label into a women-focused pyjama brand, carrying our design philosophy into a new chapter.

Today, Their Nibs is best known for our beautifully designed women’s pyjamas and loungewear. From cotton to recycled satin to our breathable linen blend pyjamas, each collection is thoughtfully crafted to offer both comfort and joy. Our bestselling pyjama shapes - traditional long pyjama sets, oversized pjs, nighties and shortie styles - are brought to life with our now-iconic hand-drawn prints.

While our focus has shifted, our heart hasn’t changed. We’re still a small, women-led business that believes in feel-good sleepwear, thoughtful design, and celebrating the little everyday moments.

And yes - we still make matching kids' pyjamas too. Because we’ll never forget where we started!
