Beautiful, beguiling and just a little bit deadly, Murder on the Forest Floor is one of two exclusive prints from the Their Nibs x Sophie Ellis-Bextor Collaboration. Hand-drawn by Their Nibs designer Sia, the design pays playful homage to Sophie’s iconic hit Murder on the Dancefloor through an enchanting tangle of poisonous flowers.
The print reveals a softer side of Sophie’s world. Away from the sequins, stage lights and dancefloor glamour, it takes inspiration from her love of vintage fashion, romantic florals and leisurely mornings at home. Set against a deep midnight background, vivid blooms weave across the fabric in a design that feels wonderfully nostalgic, while the rich colour and generous scale give it a contemporary edge.
Beautifully poisonous
To create the print, Thier Nibs Designer, Sia explored the fascinating world of flowers that may look captivating but conceal a more dangerous side. Each bloom was then drawn by hand in the Their Nibs studio, creating an original floral filled with expressive detail, movement and a touch of mischief.

The result is pretty but perilous: a fitting print for the woman behind Murder on the Dancefloor. Look a little closer and there is always another curious flower or intricate detail waiting to be discovered among the foliage.
Three ways to wear the print
- Murder on the Forest Floor is available in three distinctive nightwear silhouettes:
The housecoat: an elegant layer made for wrapping up over your favourite nightwear and bringing a little glamour to slow mornings at home. - The boxy pyjama: a relaxed, contemporary shape that lets the statement floral take centre stage while offering plenty of room for lounging, sleeping or dancing around the kitchen.
- The square-neck nightdress: a beautifully simple silhouette with a clean square neckline and no frill, giving the romantic print a more modern, understated finish.
Whichever shape you choose, Murder on the Forest Floor brings together everything we love about Their Nibs and Sophie Ellis-Bextor: colour, storytelling, vintage inspiration and a sense of fun. It is nightwear for the quieter side of the disco queen – although we can’t promise it won’t inspire a little kitchen dancing.
