Their Nibs was established in the heart of London's Notting Hill Gate during the searing heat of the summer of 2003. Founder, Fiona Bell, recognised that the children's clothing market was crying out for a vibrant, fresh and inventive alternative to the branded mainstream and to the high street stores that lacked originality and flair. The name, Their Nibs, originated from Fiona's nickname for her own crazy seven year old, "his nibs".
Since its fruition, Their Nibs has gone from strength to strength and has quickly established itself as a haven for celebrity mums and dads. Juliette Binoche, Marielle Frostrup, Elizabeth Jagger, Jude Law, Sienna Miller, Kate Moss, Jools Oliver, Sharleen Spiteri, even Ian Wright – these are just a few of the regular celebrity patrons which add to the steadfast tribe of trendy Notting Hill mums.
Offering a unique and eclectic designer collection which combines an unconventional quirk with classic elegance, Their Nibs has developed a reputation for consistency in quality, diversity and imagination. Catering for all ages from babies to 10 years of age, Their Nibs specialises in contemporary retro styles and prints with a distinct influence from the 50s, 60s and 70s. They have now developed a new homeware line which is characterised by Their Nibs own unique range of signature prints.
In addition to their own striking designs, Their Nibs holds an 'in-house' vintage range of funky retro originals sourced from vintage fairs, individual sales and predominantly from Portobello Market. The line dates from the 1960s onwards with all items in pristine condition.
Their Nibs range is constantly featured in leading magazines brands such as Vogue, Bambini, Junior Magazine, Collezioni and The Sunday Times Style Magazine. Their Nibs are continually searching for fresh ideas and influences to keep themselves ahead of the game and aim to consistently deliver a collection which is distinguishing, inventive and unique.
